“Three...gimme a three...gimme three...gimme three...add a quar
ter... gimme a quarter...got a quarter...gimme four...gimme four...
gimme four...add a half...got a half...gimme five...” It was a full day
of buying and selling and auctioning some of the best cattle
around Thursday during the Georgia Farmer’s Livestock Commis
sion’s auction. More than 2,000 head of cattle came in and out of
the auction ring during the day. Dealers from all over Georgia and
many from out of state spent the day bidding, thinking and making
some big decisions on what to buy. One man, from Polk County,
Tenn., said that he’s been coming to this auction in Forsyth County
since he can remember. Why did he pick Forsyth County? “Well,
my Daddy always came here. We’ve just never stopped coming.”
The auction is held every Thursday at the auction barn and
stockyards located on Highway 20 just before the Cherokee County
line.
