Hunting safety
class offered
The Georgia State Game and Fish
Commission will instruct Hunter safe
ty courses, Dec. 7 and 9, at Cumming
City park. The courses are on the
proper handling of firearms and safe
hunting proceedures.
The Dec. 7 course will be held from
5:30-9 p.m. The Dec. 9 course is set for
6:00-9 p.m. Each participant must at
tend both nights, plus take a Hunter
Safety Exam on Dec. 9. There is no
cost for registering. This course is
open to anyone bom on or after J
Jan. 1,1961.

Gymnastics
The Cumming City Park Recrea
tion Department will be holding gym
nastics registration the first Friday of
each month. These classes are de
signed to run every Friday afteroon.
All 30 minute sessions cost $lO per
month with hourly lessons costing sls.
There will be groups for pre-school
ages (3-5), beginners (6-up) and an
other class for advanced ages (6-up).
All classes will be taught by Stephanie
Scoggins.

County defeated Roswell last Saturday to win the Route 400 basketball
tournament. The event was held at Crestwood FHigh School in north Fulton.

Divisions.

Bulldog Club
The friends and supporters of the
University of Georgia are forming a
Lanier/ 400 Bulldog Club. This new
club will be for individuals residing in
Forsyth, Dawson, Cherokee, Gwin
nett and North Fulton counties not in a
club.

Fall Tennis
The Cumming Recreation and
Parks Department will hold a fall ten
nis youth league. Pat Pitts will place
individuals on teams according to
their ability level.
Doubles competition for youth, ages
8-17, will be offered. All matches will
be played at either Cumming City
Park or Forsyth County High School.

Nature hiking
The Gwinnett County Parks and Re
creation Department will be sponsor
ing nature hike Dec. 12.
The hike will begin at 8 a.m. and end
with breakfast at 10 a.m. Participants
should bring their own breakfast. The
hike will be held at George Pierce
park on Buford Highway in Suwanee,
