A support group for battered and abused
women is sponosored twice a month by Fam
ily Haven, Forsyth County's only shelter for
battered women and their childrea If you
are having problems and need support,
please plan to attend the meetings every sec
ond and fourth Tuesday. Location of the

Coats for Kids offers free coats
The Homemakers Council is sponosring
free coats for children during the next three
Saturdays. The coats will be available for
pick-up from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday Jan. 25.

Families Concerned with Diabetes
The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation will
host an Open Forum addressing issues of
concern to children with diabetes. The forum
will be held on Sunday. Jan. 19,3 p.m.. at the
Peachtree Presbyterian Church, 3434 Ros
well Road. Two concurrent panels will meet;
one for children and the other, for adults.
A “Kids Only” panel, meeting in Room 233
will feature young people of all ages sharing
their strategies for coping with this compli
cated disease. The children who comprise
the audience (no adults allowed) are invited
to ask any questions or concerns they may
have about living with diabetes, members of
the Atlanta Chapter Medical Advisory Board
will be present to assist the panel of young
people.
Members of the Atlanta Chapter Medical
Advisory Board will also be on hand for a rap
session with parents and relatives who have
a family member with diabetes.
Both panels are free and open to the pub
lic. Refreshments suitable for diabetics will
be served.

Forsyth County Little Theatre
The Forsyth County Little Theatre will
hold auditions for the play “The Foreigner”
on Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 20, 21 at the
Midway United Methodist Church from 7-9
p.m. Several roles for men and women are
available. The church is located on Highway
9 half a mile south of Midway Elementary

North Georgia Cattleman
The North Georgia Cattleman meet each
month on the third Tuesday, the association
meets to learn about the business of cattle
raising. An invitation is extended to cattle
producers, agribusiness employees and oth
er interested persons to join us for our next
meeting Tuesday Jan. 21,7 p.m. at the Cum
ming Western Steer. Paul Walls of The Geor
gia Cattleman Association and Dr. Dan
Brown of the Cooperative Extension Service
will be the speakers. Dr. Brown will be dis
cussing bull selection and EPD’s. Come join

was organized in 1948 and federated in 1951.
