Oliver Stone’s film may help lift the wool from our eyes
By Kara Sproles
Staff Writer
Well, what do you know.
Statistics now show that a ma
jority of those asked believe John
F. Kennedy, the president from
America’s “royal family,” was in
deed killed by some sort of con
spiracy which wanted him extin
guished from the highest seat in
the U.S. government
Oliver Stone’s controversial
film, “JFK,” colored by black and
white re-enactments resembling
a documentary added to actual
dated film footage, has us all con
vinced the wool has been pulled
over our eyes.
Suddenly, books about his as
sassination and the theories be
hind it are on the best seller lists.
As the general public frantical
ly searches for information be
hind the idea that Lee Harvey Os
wald was merely a fall guy for an
organized crime group, authors’
pockets grow deeper.
Office-seeking politicians are
even using the hype to point fin
gers, playing on the public’s wide
spread opinion of the assassina
tion, in hopes of winning
elections.
And of course those in front of
and behind Stone’s camera have
cashed in on the deal, too.
Suddently, it’s chic to dig into
the past
Well, it’s about time.
No matter that Stone’s film,
which intentionally used blurry
and distorted images to tell the
tale, may not have received rave
reviews from every major critic.
And sure, plenty of people are
using the whodunit assassination
to further their own interests. But
that is really not what’s impor
tant, either.
It doesn’t even matter that re
spected historians may beg to dif
fer with parts of the film.
What does matter is that people
are reconsidering that 1963
murder.
The American public may have

been told a half-truth at best, and
we’re angry.
We demand an explanation.
The reasons why this country is
looking back are not important
The fact that they are is what real
ly counts.
Call me crazy, but the evidence
which has allegedly shown that
there is no possible way three
quick shots could have been fired
only from Oswald’s gun which
killed Kennedy that day in Dallas
is proof enough for me anyway.
Who needs a movie?
There was obviously more than
one gunman.
More than one is considered a
conspiracy.
It’s as simple as that
But what bewilders me most is
that for almost 30 years people
accepted the government’s expla
nation of how their beloved presi
dent died.
This is the same man who
wasn’t even picked to win that
1960 election.
‘LeCaßru’ to debut at Dawsonville event
January 1 ushered in a brand
new year, and it also ushered in a
new era for Contemporary Chris

Brew.) The Bruces have been
traveling throughout the United
States ministering in word and
music in churches, civic centers,

solely known as LeCaßru will be

I can only guess that perhaps it
takes 30 years for that shock to
