Millwood/Hulsev •
Rebecca June Hulsey and Michael Todd Millwood were united in marriage
Aug. 17,1991 at Harmony Grove Baptist Church, Cumming
The bride is the daughter of June Hulsey of Lula and the late Robert Hulsey
and the granddaughter of Lucille (Echols) Greenway of Lula and the late
Marvin Greenway, and Oliver Hulsey, Sr. of Mableton and the late Reba
Hulsey.
The groom is the son of Marshall and Joyce Millwood of Forsyth County and
the grandson of H.V. and Bernice Martin of Cumming and Amos and Doris
Millwood of Cumming.
The Rev. Mike Mertz and Rev. Ricky Byrd performed the ceremony. A
program of wedding music was performed by pianist Julie Gamer and soloist
Milena Parks, Amy Millwood and Mark Millwood. The bride was given in
marriage by her uncle Leon Miller of Tiger.
Cindy Wilson, the bride’s cousin, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids
were Ajny Mote, Rachel Nix, Beth Millwood, Tammy Adamson, and Rebecca
Smith. Hanna Millwood served as junior bridesmaid. Flower girl was Steph
anie Wade, the bride’s cousin. Anna Dale kept the bride’s book.
Marshall Millwood, the groom’s father, served as best man. Groomsmen
were Chris Cranford, Matthew Smith, Ken Burtz, Steve Burtz, and Brian Nix.
Zack Waters served as junior groomsman. Ringbearer was Josh Baker, the
bride’s brother.
Served as ushers were Larry Watersand, Eric Waters, both the groom’s
cousins. Rice bags were given out by Abbie and Lena Martin and scrolls were
given to guests by Patty Burtz and Laura Martin. Jodi Suggs directed the
wedding.
On the eve of the wedding, a reception was given by the bride’s mother and
aunts in the Church Fellowship Hall. Assisting were Angie Massey, Kelly
McDuffie, Tracy Davidson, Angie Jordan, Dawn Massey and Nan Shubert
After the wedding a surprise honeymoon trip was planned for the bride by
the groom to Panama City Beach, Fla. After the trip, the couple will make their
home in Forsyth County.

Miss Amy Lynne Cain and Mr. Jeffrey Dean Thomas were united in marriage
during a candlelight ceremony Saturday, Nov. 9, 1991 at 6 o clock in the
evening at Carnes Creek Baptist Church in Tocoa. The Rev. Pat Williams
officiated at the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Wanda Cain and the late Rev. T. Wayne
Cain. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Alta Willis and the late Mr. Calvin Willis
and the late Mr. and Mrs. Harvey H. Cain, all of Tallapoosa, Ga. The groom is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Leon Thomas of Cumming. He is the grandson of
Mrs. Ruth Sparks and the late Mr. Edward D. Sparks of Osgood, Indiana, and
the late Mr. Kenneth R. Thomas and Mrs. Edith Thomas Vincent of Athens,
The entrance to the church was decorated with candlelight velvet and lace
bows. The bride’s book was kept by Miss Gina Overstreet of Brunswick and Ms.
Karen Davis of Toccoa distributed programs. The registry table held burning
ivory candles in memory of the bridal couple’s grandparents. The table also
held an arrangement of red roses and a Bible which belonged to the bride s
late father, Rev. T. Wayne Cain.
The bride entered the sanctuary alone and was met at the alter by her
mother and together they lit a candle in memory of the bride’s father. The table
holding the memory candle also held a lace covered Bible given to the bride s
mother by the bride’s father before they were married. The bride was given in
marriage by her mother and sisters.
The bride wore a gown of candlelight countessa matte satin overlaid with re
embroidered lace. The square neckline in front and deep v’ed back was edged
in scalloped lace. The long sleeves were appliqued with beaded lace and
ended in callo points over the wrists. They were fastened with tiny satin
covered buttons. The gown was accented with hand beading, irridescent se
quins, and pearls. The mermaid skirt featured a scalloped hem of re-embroi
dered lace which continued around the length of the train. The back of the
gown featured a large satin bow with silk flowers at the waist. Her headpiece of
candlelight silk illusion, made by her mother, was accented with lace, sequins
and pearls. She carried a cascading bouquet of red and white silk roses with
baby’s breath, accented with pearls and ribbon streamers. She wore pearl,
diamond and ruby earrings which were a wedding gift from the groom.
Miss Amanda Cain of Macon and Mrs. Anna Cain Stewart of Gainesville, both
sisters of the bride, were honor attendants. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Lynn
Powell Badura of Toccoa, Mrs. Shannon Bailey Williams of Kennesaw, and
Miss Susan Blackwelder of Charleston, South Carolina. All the attendants
were attired in long skirts of black faille with candlelight lace bodice. The
bodice had long sleeves and a deep peplum edged with lace. The deep v ed
back was accented with a large black faille bow at the waist They carried
lighted footed votive candle holders which were trimmed with gardenias,
foliage, ribbon streamers and pearls.
The groom’s father was best man. Groomsmen were Jonathan Thomas,
brother of the groom, Thomas Holbrook, and John W. Tucker, all of Cumming;

Grandmothers attending the wedding were Mrs. Alta Willis, grandmother of
the bride, and Mrs. Ruth Sparks, grandmother of the groom. They each wore a
white rose corsage.
The wedding was directed by Mrs. Bonnie Jordan of Toccoa. She was assist
ed by Tim J. Gazaway of Cumming.
Following the ceremony the bride’s mother entertained at a reception in the
church fellowship hall. Guests were greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Fulbright
and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Ivester.
On display in the reception area was the blue velvet wedding dress worn by
Mrs. Alta Merritt Willis, the bride’s grandmother, when she was married on
Oct. 28,1933.
