Newcomers
The newly organized Newcomers Club is one of the fastest growing civic organizations in the area. The group
organized in November and in three months boasts 53 members. Several members are pictured above at the Jan.

Chamber promises big evening

Enthusiasm is running high for the
Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber
of Commerce banquet set for this
Friday.
Organizers predict attendance will
outnumber that at last year’s gala
when 225 attended the event
“I would estimate that about 275
will attend,” said organizer Henry
Lins.
One thing Lins believes will attract
the crowd is the items donated to

there are more than 100.
A trip to Aruba, a video game and
advertising time with a local cable
television company are some items to
be bidded on.
There will also be a raffle for a set of
Ping® iron golf clubs and a bag, all
worth about SBSO.
The silent auction and cocktails

take place at the Roswell Holiday Inn.
Billy Payne, president and chief ex
ecutive officer of the Atlanta Commit
tee for the Olympic Games will serve
as the guest speaker.
“He’s a dynamic speaker who will
be talking about a great subject that
will affect all of us Atlantans,” said
Lins.

concerning a gas leak at 4395 Drew
