Pegasus to fly in
25 new jobs
By Kara Sproles
Sfft Writer
Forsyth County will soon pin a
company owned by business execu
tives from Germany, Japan and the
U.SA, the local Chamber of Com
merce reported Friday.
The newcomer is Pfaff Pegasus, a
company which manufactures sewing
machines. It will bring about 25 new
jobs to the county when it moves into
the John’s Creek Development
‘Twenty-five new jobs in the county
is certainly welcome,” said Bill Saw
yer, the chamber’s executive vice
president “We certainly need them.”
Fifty-one percent of the company is
owned by Pfaff of Germany, 19 per
cent is owned by Willcox and Gibbs of
New York and 30 percent is owned by
the Pegasus Corporation of Japan,
Sawyer stated.
Sawyer added that the Cumming-
Forsyth County Chamber of Com
merce had worked with the business
owners for about two years on the
move, which is both an expansion and
a relocation.
According to Stevie Mills, director
of the Planning and Zoning Depart
ment, a grading permit was issued to
Pegasus on Jan. 28.
About 62,000 square feet near the
intersection of Lakefield Dr. and
McGinnis Ferry Road has been set
aside for the company, Mills said.
“It’s about an acre and a half,” he
said. “They can go ahead and start
grading.”
The site will serve as the company’s
regional distribution center and will
employ about 75.
“They’ll bring about 50 with them,”
Sawyer said.
