About 7:30 a.m. the next day, a
36-year-old Gainesville resident
was pulled over on Hwy. 20 East
when a deputy clocked his Ford
Ranger going 71 miles per hour.
According to the report, the
deputy smelled marijuana coming
from the car. During a search, the
deputy reported he found a mari
juana cigarette in a pack of ciga
rettes and six other partially
smoked marijuana cigarettes in the
ashtray.
One was still burning, states
the report.
Both suspects were charged
with possession of marijuana, dri
ving under the influence and other
traffic charges.
Other incidents reported to the
Sheriff’s Office include:
• An 84-inch skid loader tooth
bar was stolen from a Worley
Road address between Jan. 10 - t
Feb. 1. The bar fits a Bobcat trac
tor front-end loader.
• Someone destroyed a guard
railing off a Keith Bridge Road
building, formerly occupied by
Papa John’s Pizza, between Jan.
31-Feb. 1. The glass was also bro
ken out of the front door. Entry
was not made into the building,
states the report.
• A wallet and a compact disk
player was taken out of a Jeep
Cherokee parked at a Doc
Bramblett Road address between
Jan. 31 - Feb. 1. The vehicle was
unlocked, states the report.
• The front door and three dou
ble pained windows of a Peachtree
Parkway address were destroyed
between Jan. 31 - Feb. 1. Damage
is estimated at $l,lOO.
• A Pioneer compact disc play
er was stolen out of a Chevrolet
Z 24 parked at a Mountain Valley
Circle address between Jan. 31-
Feb. 1. The report states the stereo
was ripped from the console.
• A 43-year-old construction
worker suffered a broken ankle,
Jan. 30, when he fell off a ladder
at a Shiloh Road construction site.
According to the report, the 8-foot
ladder was standing on a stack of
PVC pipes when it slipped.
• Four Corvette knockoffs and
beauty rims were stolen off a 1968
Corvette parked at an Atlanta
Highway address between Jan. 30-
31. They are valued at S4OO.
• A Hungarian 9mm pistol,
four Shimano Bantan 50 fishing
reels and an Escort radar detector
were stolen out of a Chevrolet
• - Blazer parked at the Charleston
Park boat ramp on Jan. 30. Entry
• into the vehicle was made by
, opening a locked door.
• • A Huffy bicycle was stolen
; from the front of the county plan

• W. Main St., on Jan. 30. The bike
is blue and purple.
• A Rossi .38-caliber revolver
• was stolen out of a Ford F-150
pickup truck parked at a Hickory
<■ Bluff Drive address between Jan.
22-29. The vehicle was unlocked,
