FRONTIERS
Because the world really needs
more than one Alan Alda, “The Art of
Science” introduces an Alda replica
not a flesh-and-blood clone, but rather
a digital construct. The hourlong
episode explores the technology that
makes it possible to assemble a fac
simile of Alda by using 3-D laser

to sink the ship in scenes from Titanic.
