AVOID ACCIDENTS
FORSYTH COUNTY COMMUNITY EDUCATION SCHOOL a divi
sion of Forsyth County Public Schools is offering (5) Spring and Summer
DRIVER EDUCATION COURSES at each of the high schools, which will
run for only one week. M-F, 5 days each session. Classes will be from
9:OOAM - 3:OOPM and all 30 hours of required classroom instruction and
testing can be completed in only 5 days. These are state approved 36 hour
training courses, consisting of 30 hours of classroom instructioh and test
ing as well as 6 hours of actual on the road driving instruction and testing,
which is arranged individually. Students are paired with another student to
drive Often students recruit a friend to take the course with them. This
helps them and helps us form a class. An 80% overall grade average is
required to complete each course. Each course is taught by state certified
and very experienced teachers. Completion of this course qualifies gradu
ates for favorable insurance discounts.

JUNE 15-19,1995
JUNE 22-2*,1998
JULY 13-17,19998
JULY 20-24,1998
AUGUST 3-7,1998
These courses will fill quickly. Each class has a minimum enrollment of 20
students We urge you to enroll right away to assure a place in the class of
your choice. The total fee is only $195.00. Make check payable to:

istration times: Monday through Thursday 11:00 am -1:00 pm or Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at South Forsyth

"I Love My Teacher" party
On Friday, May 29, students at the Forsyth County Sylvan Learning Center invited their favorite
classroom teachers to a reception honoring educators from schools in and around Forsyth
County. The “I Love My Teacher Party” was held at the Forsyth County Center in Tri-County Plaza.
The nationally recognized and accredited Forsyth County Sylvan Center supplements a student’s
classroom work with individualized instruction in reading, math, college readiness and study skills.

Families needed to host exchange students
Catch the spirit of international friendships by host
ing a high school exchange student from Spain,
Mexico, France, Germany, Great Britain, Thailand
or one of the former Soviet Union countries through
World Heritage International Student Exchange
Program.
Students are currently awaiting word on their host
family for the 1998-99 academic school year. Host
families provide room, board and guidance to a
teenager living thousands of miles from home.
Students are well-screened and are selected based on
academic performance, English proficiency, teacher
recommendations and personal interviews.
