Harriet Muller, a woman who lives life to its fullest

“Attitude - that’s Mrs. Muller in
a word,” said Rita Chappell, who
works in the H&H Muller office
with Harriet Muller.
While it’s an apt description,
defining Harriet Muller in a word is
a difficult proposition. She has been
a dancer and a homemaker and is
still an equestrian, community
leader, businesswoman, travel
enthusiast and last, but not least, a
grandmother to eight grandchildren,
ages 2 to 24.
How does she do it?
“I’m an orga
nizer. I’m positive
- I never think
negative. You have
to haVe a good
attitude - and it
rubs off on oth
ers,” Harriet said,
adding, “I’m phys
ically active. I

don’t like to sit around.”
Far from sitting around, it’s only
been a few months since her last
flip off the diving board. Really.
“I have a goal every year to see
how long I can do this,” she said,

“There will come a day when I
can’t do these things. But a body in
motion stays in motion.”
A former Rockette who now
runs a franchise of McDonalds in
the Atlanta area, Harriet Muller
knows what she’s talking about.
After some 30 years as a dancer,
including performing in musicals,
running her own dance studio,
choreography and putting on shows
for various organizations, Harriet
and her husband, Henry, left Long
Island, N.Y.,
and planted
new roots
down south in
Forsyth
County in
1974.
Henry, an
engineer, was
looking for
change, Harriet said, so after
.research into business opportunities
and areas, she closed the doors to
her dance studio and they opened
up the first McDonalds in Forsyth
County.

“I did the office work, he did the
operations,” she said. After running
the dance studio, handling the
books for the franchise was no
problem, she said.
