and support. She was never too
busy to answer my questions or
offer her time, and I have never
asked her to do anything that was
not done well,” she said.
This year, in lieu of presenting
the traditional bouquet of roses to
the chairman’s spouse, McGruder
presented the roses to her mother,
Louise Mashbum.
“Since she moved here as a
bride in 1944, she has been a
strong and generous force in her
church, her community and her
family,” the outgoing chairman
said of her mother.
McGruder welcomed Wade in
as Chairman, and issued an invita-
