“Everybody really looks forward
to the classic,” said assistant golf
professional Scott Warman.
The golf club will honor its late
superintendent by hosting a tourna
ment over Memorial Day in his
memory. Proceeds will benefit the
superintendent’s family.
A number of charity events also
are on tap for 1999. “We have a
ton of outings scheduled,” said
Warman.
In addition to the tournaments,
junior golf clinics and ladies events
are offered at the private club.
Members particularly enjoy the
traditional member-member and
member-guest tournaments in the
spring and summer.
The course, which is in the
process of expanding from 6,558
to 7,100 yards, also plays host to
the South Forsyth HS team.
Country Land Family Day
Country Land is family friendly.
The club will host its third annual

Scheduled for September, Family
Day gives children ages 3 and up
the opportunity to go with mom
and dad out on the course.
Reduced fees are offered, and all
youngsters receive trophies and T
shirts.
“That is our biggest event of the
year,” Scoggins said.
Country Land also will play host
to tournaments benefiting the
Human Society and local church
groups as well as offering junior
clinics. Sign-ups for a ladies clinic
will take place the last week of
April.
The course should be in great
shape during 1999.
“We’ve added three new tee
boxes, some fairway bunkers and
trees,” Scoggins said.
Country Land is located on
Mayfield Road in Cumming.
