Several restaurants have opened in Johns Creek in the past
year, including Donatos.
Donatos Pizza opens in ’99
Johns Creek Donatos Pizza officially opened on Monday, Feb. 22.
This is the second Georgia store for the Columbus, Ohio-based eatery,
known for its pizzas, subs and salads, which has more than 136 loca
tions in six states.
Donatos offers 18 toppings on its pizzas and a wide variety of subma)
rine sandwiches and salads. The store has dine-in facilities, including $
large party room free of charge for catered events, plus delivery ser)
vices and a pick-up window for take-out orders.
Drew Meyer, president of the Atlanta Pizza Company, is the franchise
partner who opened the new Donatos location at Johns Creek. Meyer
also opened Georgia’s first Donatos store, in Duluth. He said that simi
lar to the Duluth store, the Johns Creek location will provide about 50
employment opportunities. Johns Creek Donatos currently has about 40
employees.
“With its edge-to-edge pizzas and a variety of other unique menu
items, Donatos offers products that cannot be found at any other pizza
restaurant in the area,” Meyer said. “We chose to build a new Donatos
in Johns Creek because of the great success we experienced in nearby
Duluth, and because we know how much local residents demand high
quality, great-tasting pizza.”
A family-owned business since 1963, Donatos likes to become a com
mitted member of the community in which it is located.
For example, the Johns Creek Donatos will donate more than SI,OOO
to the Forsyth County United Way. The money was raised during a
“pizza roulette” event.
The new Donatos is located in Suwanee at 3585 Peachtree Pkwy, al
McGinnis Ferry Road and S.R. 141, just north of the Kroger Center.
Hours are Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday
and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. For more information, call (770) 205-
3332 or visit the Donatos Web site at www.donatos.com.
