Model airplane
crashes into home
A model airplane crashed into
a Woodberry Pointe home the
afternoon of Sept 12. causing
SI,OOO in damage. The homeown
er said he heard a “loud crash" in
his upstairs bedroom, finding the
white Hobbie Superstar plane
smashed through his bedroom
window.
An officer later found the
owner of the plane searching for
his aircraft in the neighborhood.
The man. who belongs to
Chattahoochee Riverside Flyers
Club, said he lost contact with the
aircraft about a half mile away
from the crash site.
Victim cut on top
of head in fight
Investigators are trying to piece
together details of a Sept 10 fight
that resulted in injuries to a 20-
year-old Forsyth County man.
Officers arrived at a residence
in the 2700 block ot Hwy. 20
about 10 p.m. The injured man
told officers someone cut him on
top of the head with some kind of
knife. Paramedics said the victim
did not require hospital treatment

Driver arrested
trying to flee
A 24 year-old Forsyth County
man was arrested during (he early
morning hours Sept 12 after run
ning from a deputy.
James Jason Snee was travel
mg east on Hwy. 369 in a 1983
Ford pickup when a deputy
attempted to pull him over for
reckless driving, states a Sheriff's
Office report. The driver quickly
turned onto Mt. labor Road, then
pulled into a private driveway and
jumped out of the pickup He and
a passenger were allegedly throw
tng beer cans out of the pickup
during the chase, state reports
The deputy pursued Snee
behind the residence before losing
sight of him in the woods. A pas
senger in the truck later admitted
to throwing the beer cans out of
the truck, saying she and Snee had

PUBLIC NOTICE
This notice shall serve as notification to the general public that
the 2(XX) proposed budget for Forsyth County will be available
for public inspection starting Tuesday, September 14, in the
Office of the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners locat
ed at 110 East Main Street, Suite 210, Cumming, Georgia
3(XMO. The budget may be reviewed during normal business
hours, which is 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through
Friday.
Citizens’ review and comments are solicited.

fleeing and attempting to elude
police and driving with an open
container.
Student arrested
for drinking
An officer could tell the 17-
year-old student was not drinking
soda at a South Forsyth High
School football game Sept. 10.
The officer could smell alcohol
on the student’s breath when he
questioned him in the bleachers.
The officer and a SFHS assistant
principal took the student to the
gym and asked him to empty his
pockets.
The student turned over a 3-
inch long lock blade knife and
admitted to drinking alcohol. The
student was arrested and charged
with underage consumption and
possession of a weapon on school
property.
Wreck results in
downed power lines
Crews from Sawnee EMC
repaired two down electrical wires
at the intersection of Sanders Road
and Hwy. 20 Sept. 10.
A witness told deputies the (op
ot a (lathed tractor-trailer became
entangled in the wires and
knocked them down when the dri
ver attempted to turn right onto
Hwy. 20 A witness said the truck
driver left the scene without stop
ping.
Routine stop turns
into speedy chase
A routine traffic stop Sept. 11
turned into a chase in the north
end of the county.
According to reports, a
deputy tried to pull over the dri
ver of a 1997 Pontiac Firebird
who was traveling north on Ga.
400. The officer had clocked the
driver of the Pontiac identified
as Samuel Zeb Frady, 30, of
Suwanee - going 86 mph. slate
reports
Frady exited the highway
onto Hwy. 306 before being
blocked by a patrol car. He was
arrested without further incident.
Frady was charged with speeding
and fleeing and attempting to
elude.
When asked by an officer at
the jail why he ran, Frady report
edly said, "Just stupid "
Thieves take money
from safe in home
A safe was broken into and
$4,000 in cash stolen from a
Comet Street home the after
noon of Sept 10
The owner told officers the
safe was moved into the living
room from his bedroom and then
pried open The safe contained
photos, a Certificate of Deposit
worth $5,000 and $4,000 cash
Damage to the home included a
broken cabinet and a smashed
coffee table.
A roommate said his silver
coins also were missing.
Investigators believe entry into
the home was made by breaking
a glass window. The same home
owner reported $2,720 was
taken from the glove box of his
pickup truck the next day.
Investigators could not locate
any fingerprints or marks on the
vehicle.
Painter stolen
A $2,400 paint sprayer was
reported stolen from a storage
shed at an A C Smith Road resi
dence between Sept. I -10.
Electronics taken
Electronic equipment worth
$414 was reported stolen from a
Grindle Road residence between
Sept. 11 12. The missing equip
merit includes a 25 inch televi
sion and VCR. Entry was made
by kicking open a back door.
Two charged
with shoplifting
Authorities arrested two peo
ple for shoplifting at the Ingle’s
on Hwy. 306 between Sept. 9 12.
A 31-year-old Cumming woman
was arrested Sept. 12 after she
admitted concealing sl4 worth
of deli meat in her purse.
Another arrest was made Sept 9
when a 40-ycar-old Cumming
man attempted to steal two packs
of cigarettes from the store.
Trash can taken
Taking out the garbage will not
be so easy for a Wynfield Drive
resident The homeowner reported
the $35 trash can was stolen Sept.
8.

Peggy Morgan Baggett. 64.
of Cumming died Sept 9. 1999.
A native of Fulton County. Mrs.
Baggett had been a registered
nurse. She was preceded in
death by her husband. Curtis E.
Baggett.
Survivors include grand
daughter Jcannine and Larry
Cox of Jacksonville. Fla.; great
granddaughter, Bryiana Little;
sisters and brothers in law, Sue
and Marcus Elrod, Janice and
Jack Freeman, all of Cumming,
several aunts, uncles, nieces,
nephews and other relatives.

Sunday, Sept. 12, 1999 at
Sawnee View Memorial
Gardens with the Rev. John
Wilson Morgan officiating.

After retiring. Mclntosh was
an employee ot Boeing and was
active and instrumental in build
ing and maintaining private golf
courses across the Southeast,
including Cannongate on Lanier
in Cumming. Horseshoe Bend
in Roswell; Beau Chene Golf
and Racquet Club in
Mandeville, La. and the
Finshour Golf Course. USAF.
Academy. Co. He was a member
of the Retired Officer’s
Association and was a 32nd
Degree Mason
He is survived by his wife.

Biandon. Miss.; his children,
Paula Mclntosh of North Beach,
Md.. Kent and Faye Mclntosh of
Tyhee Island, Kara Sylve of
Tickfaw, La., Darcy and Larry
Tate of Cumming. Gunn

Tricia Rosenbaum of Atlanta;
21 grandchildren and four great
grandchildren.
A service and interment will
be held with full military honors
at Arlington National Cemetery,
Washington, D C. on Sept. 27,
1999 at 9 a m.
