INDICT from 1A
Sourwood Road in Cumming, and
Frank Wolcott, 19, of Habersham
Marina Road in Cumming, were
indicted for burglary charges for
attempting to break into a Wiliay
Park Way residence on June 11.
Hakooz also was indicted for theft
by receiving stolen property. In a
separate indictment, Wolcott was
indicted on charges of criminal tres
pass and terroristic threats for an
April 24 incident.
•Robert A. Walker, 21, of
Lawrenceville, was indicted for pos
session of LSD with intent to dis
tribute and possession of marijuana.
Authorities say they recovered 58
hits of “acid” from Walker on June
11.
•David Heard, 17, and Jordan
Wall, 17, both residents of Heard
Drive in Cumming, were indicted

Eddie A. Chaffin
Eddie A. Chaffin, 72, of
Alpharetta died Sept. 13,1999.
He is survived by his wife,
Margaret Waters Chaffin; daughters,
Sandra Atkins of Stone Mountain,
Elaine Chaffin of Ackworth,
Wanneta Ingram of Cumming; sons.
Gene Chaffin of Cumming, Bobby
Chaffin of Dahlonega, Lee Chaffin
of Cumming; 22 grandchildren, 12
great-grandchildren; sister, Ruby
Hagood of Dawsonville; several
nieces and nephews.
Services were held Thursday,
Sept. 16, 1999 at Louie E. Jones
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.
Ray Hewitt officiating. Interment
was at Greenlawn Cemetery.
Louis E. Jones Funeral Home of
Alpharetta was in charge of arrange
ments.
Steve Hammond
Steve “Stevie” Hammond, 45, of
Cumming died Sept. 14, 1999. He
was a member of Oak Grove Baptist
Church.
Survivors include brothers and
sisters-in-law, Marcus C. and Cora
Hammond of Gainesville, Robert
and Addie Hammond of Cumming,
Jim and Jean Hammond of
Gainesville, Kenneth and Wanoga
Hammond of Cumming; sisters and
brothers-in-law, Ruby and Lee
Pirkle of Waycross, Barbara and
Cloys Milford, Mary and Donald
Pirkle, Diane Buice, all of
Cumming, Patricia Francis of
Gainesville, Norman Butterworth,
nieces, nephews and other relatives.

•Kenneth Wayne Keever, 46, of
Chartwell Drive in Cumming, was
indicted for aggravated assault for
allegedly attacking another resident
with a knife on Aug. 8.
•James W.. Kelly, 25, of
Dahlonega, was indicted on 10
counts of first-degree forgery and
10 counts of theft by taking. Kelly is
accused of stealing money orders
that belonged to Blue Sky
Petroleum Inc. during September
and October 1998.
•Gustavo Rodriguez, 21, of
McGinnis Ferry Road in Alpharetta,
was indicted for aggravated assault
and possession of a firearm during
commission of a crime. Rodriguez
allegedly struck a resident in the

Windy Hill Court in Alpharetta, was
indicted for a host of traffic charges
relating to a June 11 traffic stop on
Ga. 400 at McFarland Road. The'
traffic charges include driving under
the influence, obstruction, having
no proof of insurance, driving with
an open container of alcohol, being
a habitual violator and failure to
maintain lane.
•Larry Thomas, 41, of
Hammond Circle in Cumming,
was indicted on traffic charges
stemming from a Feb. 13 stop on
East Maple Street. The charges
include two counts of endangering
a child, driving under the influ
ence, driving left of center, being a
habitual violator and having no
insurance.

Curtis 0. Ray
Curtis O. Ray, 87, of Cumming
died Sept. 15, 1999. Mr. Ray was a
member of the First Christian
Church of Cumming and the
Eastern Star.
Survivors include his wife of 66
years, Elsie S. Ray of Cumming;
son and daughter in law, James C.
and Pat Ray of Cumming; grand
children, Ricky James Ray of St.
Cloud, Fla., Robin R. Adams of
Cumming; sister, Ophelia Williams
of Norcross; nephew, Charles Ray
of Loganville; nieces, nephews and
other relatives.
Funeral services will be held
Friday, Sept. 17, 1999 at 2 p.m. at
Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with

•Edward Thompson, 35, and
Nancy Thompson, 31, of Silver
Lake Point in Cumming, were
indicted for possessing cocaine on
Dec. 12,1998.
•Gregory Scott Waldrip, 35, of
Holly Cove in Cumming, was
indicted on two counts of computer
trespass and one count of computer
theft for a March 27 incident.
Waldrip is accused of removing
software that belonged to Image
Corporation of America Inc. and
attempting to sabotage computer
terminals.
•Cynthia Walls, 40, of
Densmore Lane in Cumming, was
indicted for violating the Georgia
Controlled Substance Act. She is
accused of possessing a substance
intended to look like methampheta
mine.
•Christopher Beasley, 38, of
Chestnut Ridge Court in Cumming,

There are currently 2,856 books listed as over
due, dating back to July 1, 1997. McDaniel said
he doesn’t believe that figure represents an “over
whelming number,” but this strategy should be
tried due to the amount of money being spent on
notifying people, and the lack of results from
those notifications in getting users to return the
books.

Dawsonville, was indicted for hav
ing no insurance and being a habitu
al violator in connection with a Feb.

•Mary Lee Ann Cothran, 25, of
Doc Bramblett Road in Cumming,
was indicted on two counts each of
aggravated assault and battery.
Cothran is accused of hitting a rela
tive in the face with a baseball bat
and her fist between June 26-27.

imprisonment, battery and interfer
ing with a 911 call. Sullivan is
accused of confining and hitting his
wife on April 5.
