Gause to hold Dec. 12 hometown book signing Damon Clause Jr. will hold a special book signing on Sunday, Dec. 12, from 2-4 p.m. “The War Journal of Major Damon ‘Rocky’ Gause” will be featured at the Crawford W. Long Museum in Jefferson. The war journal is the story by Gause’s father of his adventures in escaping from the Japanese during World War 11. including the escape from the Bataan Death March and from Corregidor after its fall as well as the 3,200-mile escape across the Pacific with only a hand-held compass to guide them. Rocky Gause had left the account of that escape in a manuscript to his son more than 50 years ago before he was sent to the European theatre where he was killed. A few years ago, the son decided to have his father's manuscript published. The book’s movie rights have been sold and Gause has been on a national book tour. Christmas at the Holly with song and theater event Members of the Holly Theatre Company will sing Christmas songs and the Holly children’s Theatre Company members will present a one-act version of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol" on Saturday, Dec. 4, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 5, at 2 p.m. These “Little Dickens" are designing their own costumes and have some special effects. Tickets are $7 for adults and $4 for students and children. Tickets can be purchased with a credit card by calling (706) 864- 0161 noon-5 p.m. All seats are reserved. In addition, auditions will be held Jan. 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Jan. 9 from 1-5 p.m. at the Holly Theatre for “Guys and Dolls.” Callbacks will be Monday, Jan. 10 and the production runs March JO -25. Admission is $lO. ‘Norman Rockwell: Pictures for the American People’ An exciting array of programs and education resources geared toward children, families and teachers highlight the High Museum of Art’s pre sentation of “Norman Rockwell: Pictures for the American People.” Programs for adult audiences include an American art history course and a January lecture on Rockwell by exhibition curator Anne Knutson. Koz’s most recent accomplishments include his latest release titled “The Dance" where he collaborated with influential greats Burt Bacharach, Luther Vandross. Beße Winans and Montell Jordan. Joining Koz is celebrated contemporary jazz artist David Benoit.
