for ages 2-3 years. The 25-minute
programs concentrate on early
language skills and gross motor
skills through rhyme and finger
play. As attention span for this
early stage of development is min
imal, only brief and/or wordless
stories are presented. Arrive a few
minutes before the session begins.
The times are Tuesdays at 10:15
a.m. and Wednesdays at 10:15 and
11 a.m.
The library is also offering sto
rytimes for ages 4-5 years. This is
a 30-minute program that encour
ages listening and language skills
through the reading of picture
books and participatory exercises.
Motor skills are practiced through
simple take-home crafts.
Registration is not necessary, but
arrive a few minutes before the
program begins. The times are
10:15 a.m. and 3 p.m. The dates
are as follows: Sept. 12-13, Sept.
19-20, Sept. 26-27, Oct. 3-4, Oct.
10-11.

Unicoi State Park

Backpacking Weekend on Sept.

backpack 5-1/2 miles, set up camp
and take part in various activities
that teach helpful backpacking
