Red Ribbon Week
at Cumming Elementary
The week of Oct. 28-Nov. 1 was National Red Ribbon
Week. The students at Cumming Elementary School
showed their support for a drug-free school and com
munity by participating in many activities throughout
the week. Officer Ron Boss, from the Cumming Police
Department, talked to all students in K-sth grade
about how to be happy and not turn to drugs. A
pledge banner was signed by all students promising
to live a drug-free life. Each day, students wore red
bracelets in support of Red Ribbon Week. Students
and staff also wore their clothes backward to show
that they will always “Turn Their Backs On Drugs.” All
students in grades 3-5 were given a drug-free T-shirt
designed by fifth-grader Sebastian Tovar, pictured at
right.

ed the three-day training ses
