Library
... has added two new serv
ices this summer to the collec
tion of electronic services.
The Learn A Test program is
"an interactive online database
that features more than 300
practice tests based on official
school and career exams,
including the ACT. SAT.
GED. ASVAB, firefighter,
police officer, paramedic,
EMT base, U.S. citizenship,
postal worker, cosmetology.
PRAXIS and real estate sales
agent and broker exams,
among others, according to a
press release by the library .
Those interested can access
this service by clicking on the
"Premium Databases" link on
the library’s Web site at
www.forsyth.public.lib.ga.us/
and can do this from home or
at the library. Home use
requires password and PIN
number.
The library is also offering
an electronic book club.
This service sends emails
with book excerpts to mem
bers of the club and readers
can choose from a variety of
categories such as romance,
mystery, nonfiction, business
and more.
Kids Count

Cumming on Aug. 19 at 7
p.m.
Education issues such as
testing and accountability,
strategic planning, successful
programs, school funding,
technology and legislation

Superintendent Kathy Cox.

Firefighters

Scouts
Fire station No. 1 brought
engine No. 1 to First
Christian Church in
Cumming. The firefighters
answered the cheers of
approximately 150 chil
dren from Lumpkin,
Forsyth and Dawson
counties to “spray us,
spray us.” The children
were completing their last
day of Cub Scout day
camp. The visit from sta
tion No. 1 was a welcome
surprise to all the kids
who braved hot tempera
tures all week during the
camp.
