Forsyth County News Big 101
Talk about a lunatic run
ning the asylum. Look who
they’ve let out to write this
insightful bit of prose.
Yes, it is I, Morgan Lee,
owner of a mediocre 84-56
record. Travis has bailed (at
least for this week), gnashing
his teeth about some sort of
“fix.”
Don’t feel too sorry for him
though. Last I heard, ESPN
was about to offer him Nick
Bakay’s weekly spot on
“Sports Center to explain just
how he makes his picks.
Speaking of the picks, this
week we have the appetizer
before the feast that is “Bowl
Week” nothing but NFL.
Now I hear what you’re
saying, “Morgan, theses games
are about as fun as a trip to the
dentist.”
But don't say that to FCN
editor Tom Spigolon, who's
burning up the Big 10 charts.
He finished tied with Greg
Little for the best record (8-2)
and climbed up into third place
this week pushing me and
my 5-5 out of the running for
first with Jerry Cauley and
Don Hutchins.
Cauley (6-4) and Hutchins
(7-3) did pretty well, but watch
out for darkhorse candidate
Johnny Tailant. The retired
coach did well again at 7-3 and
is within striking distance.
Enjoy the madness that is
the Big 10.

South Forsyth’s Travis Patterson (34) fin
ished as the War Eagles’ leading scorer
with 11 points Tuesday night.
REVIVAL from 1B
pressed South into committing 15 turnovers,
versus just six from the Bulldogs.
“Give Central credit, they outplayed us,” said
South head coach David Sokol. “We’ve got to
get everybody on the same page.”
Travis Patterson finished as the War Eagles’
leading scorer with 11 points, while Derek
Johnson added six.
The War Eagles face a tough stretch during
their next few games, starting tonight at
Dunwoody and continuing with Marist on
Saturday. But Sokol is confident that his squad
will continue to improve.
“We’ve got to regroup in practice,” said
Sokol. “But we’ve got the type of team that’s
going to work hard for two days and come back
and try to improve.”
As for the Bulldogs, Barnes knows his squad
must also continue to better themselves if they
want to continue their rise in 6-AAAA.
“It’s just been a divine turnaround,” said
Barnes.
Jonathan Wojociechowski finished with 10
points for Central, while Ryan Fulwood added
six.
“We just have to keep working hard and keep
playing the way we’ve been playing,” said
Barnes “If we do that, anything can happen.”
The way things are going for Central, there
are a lot of people starting to believe just that.
