Deputies on Sunday night
stumbled upon a 33-year-old
man passed out behind the
wheel of an idling truck in the
middle of a Ga. 400 exit ramp.
According to a report at the
Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office,
a deputy driving north on Ga.
400 at about 10 p.m. on Sunday
saw the truck when he turned
onto the exit ramp toward Hwy.
306.
The deputy saw a man, later
identified as Michael Shane
Henderson of Lynne Circle of
Alpharetta, sitting unconscious
in the driver’s seat of the run
ning truck.
The deputy tried to wake
him up but was unsuccessful.
Firefighters and EMS personnel
were then called to the exit
ramp.
The sheriff’s office report
said Henderson was sitting in
the truck with his pants pulled
partially down and his right
hand holding his genitals.
He remained passed out for
at least 10 minutes and several
cars had to pull around the
truck, the deputy said.
When he awoke, Henderson
pulled his pants up. The deputy
saw a pack of Camel Light ciga
rettes with a bag of suspected
methamphetamine stuffed into
the cellophane wrapper.
When the deputy searched
Henderson, he found three glass
smoking pipes in his pockets.
Henderson was arrested on
charges of possession of
methamphetamine, public inde
cency and impeding the free
flow of traffic.

Buffers also are required to

According to documents at
the county planning depart

not change the size of current
ly required buffer areas on new
residential developments and
subdivisions, they do allow
buffers to be included in lot
size calculations allowing
developers a greater density
when building a subdivision.
However, if the buffer area
is included in lot size calcula

counted again toward the
amount of open space that is
required for high-density devel

it can be counted toward the
required amount of open

The required exterior buffer
area for such developments of

the density.

density of three lots per acre
which must have 20 percent of
their total acreage designated as
open space.
Subdivisions with a densi
ty of six lots per acre-must
have at least 40 percent of
their area designated as open
space.
The final public hearing on
the buffer revision is expected
Jan. 26 before the board of
commissioners.
