Radon is an odorless, taste
less radioactive gas that comes
from the soil and rock beneath
your home. It is produced
when uranium decays, work
ing its way up through the soil
into the atmosphere. Granite
rock, common in our area,
contains large amounts of ura
nium.
As warm air rises, your
home acts like a vacuum.
Radon enters the same way
other soil gases do through
cracks, openings around floor
drains and pipes, and through
hollow block walls.
