Leadership Forsyth asks help to build pavilion
Leadership Forsyth's par
ticipants this year, in the tra
dition of past classes, have
chosen to “give back" to the
community and to directly
benefit Forsyth County resi
dents. As their class project,
the Leadership Forsyth Class
of 2004 will build a commu
nity pavilion at Eagle Point
on Lake Lanier.
One of the most important
benefits of the pavilion will
be to provide a permanent,
safe and protective structure
for the community at large
and will be located in
Cumming, off Turner Road
and Ga. 400's exit 15. It will
offer a broad based usage by
various groups throughout
Forsyth County; such as the
YMCA Summer Day Camps.
Boy Scouts. Girl Scouts and
other youth and adult organi
zations, as well as the general
public.
The size of the pavilion
will be approximately 50 feet
by 60 feet and will accom
modate up to 300 people.
Future projected plans for
the site include picnic tables,
landscaping, a walking trail,
utilities such as electricity
and water, and restrooms and
drinking fountains.
The Leadership Forsyth
Class of 2004 will donate its
time, money, skills and
resources available to them to
complete this project.
However, additional assis
tance is needed for the com
pletion of this project. The
Class of 2004 is asking the
community for assistance
with the construction of this
great venue as well.
Sponsorship donations are
greatly needed in supplies,
materials, labor and cash
donations. Those wishing to
donate items, offer in-kind
materials or labor, or learn
how to support this project as
a sponsor can call Kimberly

Dear Mrs. Kreager: I
I
The fox is guarding the henhouse. In the
year 2003, more than half of your campaign
contributions were from people in the
property development business, and more
than half of those were from developers (or
their family members) from outside Forsyth
County. Those outside developers do not
ive here and do not raise their families
here. Do you think they care what they
leave in their wake? Do you think their pri
mary concern is the impact their develop
ments have in our communities’
I challenge you to publish, in this paper '
your 2003 campaign contributions which
you were required to file by law. Let those
documents speak for themselves. Give all
the money back, not just some. Then
promise not to take money from outside
developers again.
