County.
The SCV serves as a his
torical, patriotic and non-polit
ical organization and,
although membership is open
to male descendants of
Confederate soldiers, all per
sons are welcome to visit
where meetings are informal,
casual and friendly. Meetings
are at the Cumming Police
Department, usually on the
fourth Monday of each month.

The AARP Tax Aide
Program
... will offer free income
tax service for low income and
senior taxpayers, will be at the
Cumming Public Library on
Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2
p.m. through April 5. No
appointment necessary, you
just sign-in and taxpayers will
be taken care of in order of
arrival.
It is necessary for all tax
payers using this free service
to bring their Social Security
card(s) along with last year’s
tax returns. This will assist the
Tax-Aide volunteers in prop
erly completing this year’s
returns.
AARP Safe Driving Class
... will be Wednesday and
Friday. March 31 and April 2,
from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the
Deer Creek Shores
Presbyterian Church.
Attendance for both days is
required to receive the certifi
cate. Although the course
emphasizes information and
skills for people 50 years and
older, it is helpful for drivers
of all ages.
There are no tests. To keep
the auto insurance discount in
effect, you must take the
course every three years.
