Polo Fields vehicles, construction sites burglarized over weekend

Burglars racked up on
expensive equipment stolen
from construction sites last
weekend and from vehicles
parked at residences in Polo
Fields subdivision in south
Forsyth Monday, according to
Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office
incident reports.
Ruby Collins Contractors
reported Monday that a con
struction trailer at 3999 Hwy. 9
was burglarized over the week
end. The trailer was entered
using a ladder to reach a win
dow. A digital camera, gaso
line-powered pressure washer,
.22-caliber rifle and gas-pow -
ered generator were stolen. The
missing items are valued at
$3,650, a sheriff's deputy
reported.
In addition, an Eckerd
Shopping Center construction
site was burglarized sometime
last weekend, the job foreman
reported to the sheriff's office
on Monday.

wreck

uled for yesterday in Ashland.
Ala., for a Cumming resident
and business owner who was
killed last weekend in a motor
cycle wreck in Lumpkin County.
Sheila Brint. 47, of
Cumming apparently lost con
trol of her motorcycle and struck
an oncoming car. the Georgia
State Patrol reported.
According to the accident
report. Bnnt lost control of her
motorcycle in a curve on
Georgia Hwy. 9 about 5 miles
north of Dahlonega. The motor
cycle collided with a vehicle
driven by Mary Lou Klouda of
Tucker, who suffered minor
injuries and was taken to
Chestatee Regional Hospital in
Dahlonega.
Lumpkin County Coroner
Bradley McKinney said that
Brint suffered massive trauma
and was pronounced dead on
arrival at Chestatee Regional
Hospital.
The collision occurred
around 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
Brint was the owner and
operator of The Billiard
Connection, a Cumming busi
ness which specialized in sales
and installation of merchandise
for home game rooms.
A native of Lineville. Ala.,
she is survived by her husband.

Roberson of Cumming; her
mother. Judy Anderson of
Millerville. Ala., and two broth
ers.
Man OK after
being hit by
flying debris

A Cumming resident sitting
in his driveway was struck in
the head when a reinforcing bar
fell off the back of a passing
pickup truck last weekend, sher
iff's deputies reported.
Bobby Frank Bagley, 71. of
5135 Pittman Road was sitting
in his driveway with his wife
Maurine on Saturday. Several
six-foot reinforcing bars fell off
a moving red pickup truck driv

Wildwood Drive. One bar
struck Bagley in the head and
arm.
Bagley was taken to
Northside Forsyth Hospital by
his son. Chief Judge Jeffrey S.
Bagley, where he received
stitches in his forehead and lips.
On the way to the hospital.
Judge Bagley saw Torres on the
shoulder of the road adjusting
his load. Judge Bagley stopped
and collected the driver's infor
mation which was later turned
over to the Forsyth County
Sheriff's Office.
“The driver stated he did not
know that he had hurt anyone,
and said he was sorry if he did,”
the deputy's report stated.
A deputy went to Torres'
0 home and cited him for failure
to secure load of vehicle.

Monday morning. No tangible
fingerprints were recovered by
investigators.

A Lincoln Navigator parked
in the driveway of a Chelsea
Gardens Way residence was
burglarized early Monday
morning, a sheriff's office inci
dent report stated. Two headrest
DVD players, a 10-disc DVD
changer and headphones were
stolen from the vehicle between
1 and 5 a.m. Monday. No
forced entry was evident. The
items are valued at $4,450,
deputies reported.
Also Monday morning, two
vehicles at a residence on
Sheffield Place were burglar
ized while parked in the drive
way.

wallet containing a few credit
cards were stolen sometime
between midnight and 7:15
a.m. The entertainment system,
including two television
screens and DVD players, was
valued at SI,OOO, according to
the sheriff's office.
Also, a Brighton purse and
wallet valued at $lB5 were
stolen from the middle console
of a Toyota Avalon. A cell
phone valued at $l5O was also
taken.
There was no evidence of
forced entry in either vehicles,
the incident report stated.
A set of golf clubs was
stolen Monday morning from a
Chevy Tahoe parked at a
Westchester Place residence.
The unlocked vehicle was
parked inside an open garage.
The vehicle owner estimated
the four Taylor Made golf clubs
to be worth about $ 1,800.
