Students celebrate a special birthday
To celebrate the birthday of Father Marcial Maciel, the female students at
Pinecrest Academy participated in dancing for their fellow classmates and parents.
Maciel is the founder of Legion of Christ, a Catholic religious movement and phi
losophy under which Pinecrest Academy operates.

"Q" and "U" say I do
Left, the letters "Q" and "U" were united in holy matrimony at Settles Bridge

giggled. The bride, Zoe McClure, left, and groom, Zane Martin appeared to have
a case of cold feet as they faced a fireworks display of parents' cameras flashing.

This is the third year that kindergarten teachers Laura Baker and Pam Sorel
have conducted the ceremony to help children remember the phonetic combina
tion. 'Tm glad it’s only pretend," Philip McClure said after "giving away" his
daughter, Zoe, to another 6-year-old. Right, The "letter H" enjoys a spin. The
reception was complete with a wedding cake topped with a tiny
