Above, ( the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office conducted a recent safety check with
the assistance of other officers from surrounding counties. The deputies were
checking for seat belt usage, licenses and current tags. Top right, after stopping a
suspicious vehicle at the safety check, deputies used a roadside testing kit to test
an unknown substance in the car. This chemical was determined to be an over
the-counter mood enhancer. Below, as Lt. Chris Barrett talks with the passenger
of a vehicle he pulled over, Deputy Bill Loring of the DUI task force runs the dri
ver's license data through the Georgia Crime Information Center database. It
allows him to check licenses, tags, gun registration and for outstanding warrants.
Bottom right. Barrett returns to his patrol car after a recent traffic stop where the
driver of a black SUV was swerving and crossing the center line of Ga. 400 near
the exit ramp to Hwy. 306.
