Man on parole allegedly caught with meth

A local man on parole for
possession of cocaine is
behind bars again after
allegedly being caught with
methamphetamine.

Campbell remained in cus
tody at the county jail Friday
afternoon, charged with parole
violation, possession of
methamphetamine with intent
to distribute and two counts of
possession of a firearm by a
convicted felon.
According to Freeman,
sheriff's detectives placed the
house under surveillance after
receiving information Campbell
possessed drugs and weapons.
When Campbell walked out
of the residence and began
working on his car, uniformed
deputies saw their opportunity.
"A group of officers sneaked
up on him and effectuated an
arrest," Freeman said.
Methamphetamine was
found in Campbell’s pocket and
another half ounce of metham
phetamine was found in his car.
Freeman said.

cash from Campbell.
Double trouble
Traffic was slowed for a couple of
hours on Friday on Old Federal
Highway after a tractor-trailer carry
ing construction debris lost control
and overturned shortly before 10
a.m. No serious injuries were report
ed. This was the second accident in
less than a week on the same curve
near the Forsyth/Cherokee county
line after a tractor-trailer hauling
trash, left, overturned Monday.

Rodeo is coming to
town for annual event

If you see a few more cow
boys in town this week, don’t
be alarmed.
The annual World Cham
pionship Rodeo will return to
the Cumming Fairgrounds
Covered Arena for a two-day
engagement Friday and
Saturday at 8 p.m. each night.
The rodeo will feature
bareback riding, saddle bronc
riding, calf roping, steer
wrestling, barrel racing and
bull riding.
Among the featured attrac
tions will be a performance by
the Triple Threat Trick Riders.
The Ozark, Mo., team features
both male and female trick
riders performing at lightning

• The event will be emceed
by veteran rodeo announcer
Gary Trammell.
“It’s all about having fun,”
said Trammell. “If I have fun
on the announcer stand, then
the fans will have fun.”

Rock, Pa., native is a three
time “Rodeo Clown of the
Year,”
