Broadway
... is coming to
Dawsonville. North Georgia
will be treated to a special
evening of musical theater on
May 1 when the Dawson
Community Chorale and the
NGCSU Madrigal Singers
will present their spring con
cert "A Night on Broadway.”
The concert will feature selec
tions from shows such as
"Show Boat," "Fiddler on the
Roof,” “Phantom of the
Opera," "Les Miserables,” and
many other popular Broadway
musicals.
The concert will be under
the direction of Dr. Lee G.
Barrow, and accompanist of
Mrs. Tricia Wester.
The concert will be at 7:30
p.m. in the main sanctuary of
Dawsonville First Baptist
Church on Hwy. 9 North.
Admission is free; donations
are encouraged.

Sounds of Sawnee
Community Band
... will have a Mother's
Day concert on Sunday, May
9. at 3 p.m. at the Sawnee
Cultural Arts Center. 1090
Tribble Gap Rd. in Cumming.
Selections will include every
thing from symphonic and
classical numbers to
Broadway showtunes, ragtime
and jazz. A very special sea-
ture will be “St. Louis Blues,”
a tribute to the mother of
Music Director, Alice Lewise
Bryan. “Mom enjoyed the
piece so much and wanted to
hear the band play it that she
bought the music and donated
it to the band.”
Plan to bring Mom for this
special afternoon performance
in addition to taking her out
for dinner to celebrate
Mother’s Day. All ladies will
be honored with a long
stemmed rose and a reception
following the concert.

Relay for Life 2004

Party and Celebration of Life

American Cancer Society.
Teams from churches,
schools, businesses and civic
groups spend the night raising
money to fight cancer. There
will be plenty of food, games,
family activities, music and
other entertainment. It will be
at the Cumming Fairgrounds
on Friday, May 14 beginning
at 6 p.m. and will end
Saturday. May 15, at 7:30 a.m.

Relay T-shirt.
There will be a sit-down
dinner for all survivors and
their guest along with a
Victory Lap walked by the
survivors. Luminaries can be
purchased in honor of sur
vivors and in memory of our
loved ones we have lost to this

4 Bound charity golf tourna
ment will be May 10 at the
Reunion Golf Club in
Hoschton. Registration will be
9:30-11 am.lf a player needs

Longer Bound will team the
player with other players.
After registration, golf events
will consist of use of driving
range, putting contest, deli
buffet and the shotgun
