Mr. Smith was a Korean War veteran in the Navy from VETERAN 1951-55. He was an active member of the USS Kearsarge Association where he served as vice president and membership chairman. He retired from AT&T after 32 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 0207. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Lee Smith of 34 years. Survivors include his daugh ter. Alisa Smith Rhodes; grand children. Peyton Chandler, Macy Elyse, Robert Thomas; siblings and nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
