S.C., Mr. Powell had lived in Dawson County for the VETERAN past 20 years having moved from Suwannee, Fla. He was a retired real estate broker, a U.S Army veteran, and a member of the First Methodist Church of Decatur. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly R. Powell and a grandson, Jesse Wayne Powell. Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law. Tommy and Monica Powell and Jimmy and Cheryl Powell, all of Marble Hill; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jane and Sonny Ackerman of Alpharetta, Marguerite and Tom Dorn of North August, S. and Carol and Billy Hollingsworth of Marble Hill; brother and sister-in-law, John T. and Joy Powell of Lawrenceville; grandchildren, Jimmy and Matt Powell of Marble Hill; special friend. Clara Addison and a number of other relatives also survive. Funeral services will be Monday. April 19, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Mike Owens officiat ing. Interment will follow in the Dawsonville Memorial Gardens. Bearden Funeral Home in Dawsonville is in charge of the arrangements. Forsyth Counts News April 18, 2004 Charles Cary Anderson Charles Cary Anderson, 84, of Dawsonville died Thursday, April 15, 2004. Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Cary and Helen Anderson of Tampa, Fla., Rick Anderson Os Dawsonville. Bobby and Joy Anderson of Atlanta; brother, the Rev. Marion “Morne” Anderson of Red Oak; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Funeral services were Saturday, April 17, at the Hopewell United Methodist Church in Cumming. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Byars Funeral Home was in charge of the arrange ments. Forsyth County News April 18, 2004 Edna June Beck Edna June Beck. 86, of Cumming died April 15, 2004. A native of Roanoke, Va., Mrs. Beck was a retired beautician and a Methodist. She was preceded in death by her husband. Charles Tilton Beck; daughter, Sharon Sue Beck Ciener. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Bonny and Bill Corley of Cumming, Charlene and Leonard Jones of Bryson City, N.C.; nine grandchil dren; 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Saturday, April 17, at the Arlington Park Cemetery in Jacksonville, Fla. McDonald and Son Funeral Home and Crematory was in charge of the arrange ments. Survivors include her son, Norman Fickling of Birmingham, Ala.; brother, Romaine Saunders of Riverside, Calif.; sister. Mildred Lindholm of Pasedena, Calif.; granddaugh ter. Helena Maria Fickling of Birmingham. Ala. Funeral services were Saturday, April 17, at the Cherokee Seventh Day Adventist Church in Woodstock with Pastor Wayne Owen officiating. Interment will be Monday, April 19, at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Asheville, N.C. Byars Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Forsyth County News April 18. 2004 Herbert McCurdy Jones Herbert McCurdy Jones, 69. of Cumming died April 14. 2004. A native of Stone Mountain. Mr. Jones was a retired electri cian with Kraft Foods. He served tn the VETERAN U.S. Navy for 10 years during the Korean Conflict and had a role in the movie "Bridge to the Sun." Survivors include his wife. Dean Bonner Jones of Cumming; son and daughter in-law, Dwayne and Misty Jones of Buford; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Tony Grimes of Cumming; sister. Betty Jo Shook of Hiawassee; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. A private memorial service for the family will be held. In lieu of flowers, memori al contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. McDonald and Son Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrange ments. Lokuta of New Jersey, Linda and Charles Aumick of Woodstock; grandchildren. Brandon Aumick of Woodstock, Kayla Shofner of New Jersey. Forsyth County News April 18. 2004 Lillian Mashburn Petree Lillian Mashburn Petree, 81, died April 14. 2004. Mrs. Petree attended Forsyth County High School and was a graduate of Young Harris College and the University of Georgia. After graduation, she became a dietician at Piedmont Hospital and later became a homemaker and mother. She was a member of Ebenezer Methodist Church in Forsyth County. She was pre ceded in death by her parents. Otis and Ruby Crow'e Mashburn. Survivors include her hus band. Ralph Petree of Macon; children. Michael Petree, Dixie Petree, both of Macon. Randy Petree of Smiths. Ala.; sister, Marcile Mashburn of Forsyth County; brother, Billy Mashburn of Forsyth County; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were Saturday, April 17, in the chapel of Macoft Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment followed inthe Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.
