“Let Freedom Ring”
... a National Day of Prayer
Walk will be May 6 from 10
a.m. to 12:30 p.m. beginning
at the Mount Pisgah United
Methodist Church, 2850 Old
Alabama Rd.. Alpharetta, at
the sanctuary/north Campus.
Walk the Newtown/Alpharetta
Community. Prayers for
America, unity of churches,
schools, assisted living. Red
Cross, the government, and
many other national organiza
tions.
The walk is approximately
one mile. There will be a short
prayer service in the sanctuary
to begin the walk. Only chil
dren that are young enough
for strollers are allowed on the
walk. We will have the walk
rain or shine. If it is raining,
we will have the event inside
the gathering area near the
sanctuary. Please feel free to
invite anyone that may be
interested in this walk. All
churches are invited. We wel
come you to dress comfort
ably and use patriotic attire.

... Whispering Hope
W’omen's Resource and
Pregnancy Center’s inaugural
Walk For Life, Saturday, May
8. Registration will begin at 9
a.m. with the walk at 10 a.m.
During that hour one of the
mother's will give her person
al testimony. The walk route
will loop around the facility at
133 Samaritan Dr. in
Cumming. We invite you to
take a tour of the center fol
lowing the walk. Whispering
Hope offers compassionate,
confidential counseling and
support services to women in
the community facing unwant
ed or unexpected
pregnancy. This year's Walk
For Life will help raise the

Auditions
... for “Father of the Bride”
will be Saturday, May 8, from
10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sunday,
May 9 from 1-3 p.m.
Callbacks will be May 9 from
3-4 p.m. CATCo’s auditions
will be at Creekside Church.

Barbecue Sandwich Take Out
will be Saturday. May 15. in
the Wal-Mart parking lot at
Market Place Boulevard from
9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or until
the food runs out. The plate
includes a sandwich, pickles,
chips and a 12 ounce bever
age. Proceeds will benefit vet
erans and the community.
The Forsyth County
Family YMCA
... offers a summer day
camp for kids at Eagle Point
on Lake Lanier from 9 a.m. to
4 p.m. May 31-Aug. 6 for
ages 5-12. Extended care
available as early as 7 a.m.
and after camp until 6:30 p.m.
Transportation is available
throughout Forsyth County.
Two-week sessions are avail
able for $225 per session.

Sounds of Sawnee
Community Band
... will have a Mother’s
Day concert on Sunday, May
9. at 3 p.m. at the Sawnee
Cultural Arts Center, 1090
Tribble Gap Rd. in Cumming.
Selections will include every
thing from symphonic and
classical numbers to
Broadway showtunes, ragtime
and jazz. A very' special fea
ture will be “St. Louis Blues,”
a tribute to the mother of
Music Director, Alice Lewise
Bryan. “Mom enjoyed the
piece so much and wanted to
hear the band play it that she
bought the music and donated
it to the band.”
Plan to bring Mom for this
special afternoon performance
in addition to taking her out
for dinner to celebrate
Mother's Day. All ladies will
be honored with a long-
stemmed rose and a reception
following the concert.

Relay for Life 2004
... you and your family are
invited to the huge
Community Spend the Night
Party and Celebration of Life
Party sponsored by the
American Cancer Society.
Teams from churches,
schools, businesses and civic
groups spend the night raising
money to fight cancer. There
will be plenty of food, games,
family activities, music and
other entertainment. It will be
at the Cumming Fairgrounds
on Friday, May 14 beginning
at 6 p.m. and will end
Saturday, May 15, at 7:30 a.m.
Sponsors are needed for the
Relay T-shirt.
