Adoption Information Session
on Saturday, May 1, 2004.
The session will be from 9:30
a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the IAC

An adoption professional
will discuss the process of
open adoption, from the initial
steps to get started through
finalizing your adoption. The
$ 10,000 tax credit for domes
tic adoption will be explained
as well as all costs associated
with your adoption. Recently
adopted parents will also share
their open adoption experi
ence.

ticipate in a free driving
course offered through the
sheriff’s office. Parents
Reducing Incidents of Driver
Error is a two-hour informa
tional session created by the
Georgia Traffic Injury
Protection Institute in an effort
to reduce the number of vehi
cle crashes involving teens.
Three sheriff’s deputies have
been trained to teach teenagers
and parents crash dynamics,
teen driving facts and statis-
tics, the graduated driver’s
license process and Georgia’s
Teenage and Adult Driver
Responsibility Act. To sign up

Annual 5K Road Race on April 17. More than 270
participants raised approximately $9,000 for Daves
Creek Elementary School’s fund-raiser for “Relay For
Life,” a 24-hour event designed to celebrate survivor
ship and raise money for the American Cancer
Society. The total raised was an increase of $4,000
from last year’s event, making this the greatest suc
cess to date for Windermere’s 5K Road Race.
