Sounds of Saw nee Community Band ... will have a Mother’s Day concert on Sunday, May 9, at 3 p.m. at the Sawnee Cultural Arts Center, 1090 Tribble Gap Rd. in Cumming. Selections w ill include every thing from symphonic and classical numbers to Broadway show tunes, ragtime and jazz. A very special feature will be "St. Louis Blues," a tribute to the mother of Music Director, Alice Lew ise Bryan. "Mom enjoyed the piece so much and wanted to hear the band play it that she bought the music and donated it to the band." Plan to bring Mom for this special afternoon performance in addition to taking her out for dinner to celebrate Mother’s Day. All ladies will be honored with a long-stemmed rose and a reception following the con cert. Admission is free. Relay for Life 2004 ... you and your family are invited to the huge Community Spend the Night Party and Celebration of Life Party sponsored by the American Cancer Society. Teams from churches, schools, businesses and civic groups spend the night raising money to fight cancer. There will be plenty of food, games, family activities, music and other entertain ment. It will be at the Cumming Fairgrounds on Friday. May 14 beginning at 6 p.m. and will end Saturday, May 15, at 7:30 a.m. Sponsors are needed for the Relay T shirt. There will be a sit-down dinner for all survivors and their guest along with a Victory Lap walked by the survivors. Luminaries can be purchased in honor of sur vivors and in memory of our loved ones we have lost to this disease. No Longer Bound golf tournament ... the ninth annual Round 4 Bound charity golf tourna ment will be May 10 at the Reunion Golf Club in Hoschton. Registration will be 9:30-11 am.lf a player needs to join up with a foursome, No Longer Bound will team the player with other players. After registration, golf events will consist of use of driving range, putting contest, deli buffet and the shotgun start/scramble will be at noon. Forsyth County Parks and Recreation ... will offer the following classes: • Hatha Yoga One-hour classes are designed for begin ner to moderate level students. Sessions use stretching, breathing, meditation and alignment to improve muscle tone, strength, flexibility and overall mind and body well ness. Equipment is provided and you may progress at your own pace. Classes are at the Central Park Recreation Center starting Monday, May 17, from 6:15-7:15 p.m. or Tuesday, May 4, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or Thursday, May 6, from 6-7 p.m. The fee is S6O for six weeks.
