CUMMING EVENTS *
EVENTS from 10A
to benefit homeless pets. To
add to the excitement, we’re
looking to you — the public
— to assist us in coming up
with a name. See visit the Web
site for details.
• Volunteers needed — The
FCHS is in desperate need of
volunteers, whether it’s just
one hour per month or several
days. How can you help? We
need assistance with the fol¬
lowing: spending quality time
with the animals; pet mainte¬
nance; being a foster “parent;”
assisting with fundraisers;
transporting animals to and
from adoption days; and
building/lawn maintenance
just to name a few. For more
information, please contact
Holly Cohen at (770) 886-
2882 or hmcohen@bell
south.net.
• Foster “Parents” needed
— Foster care is needed for
each and every pet for the first
10 days after being introduced
into the program. This 10-day
period is a time of quarantine
to evaluate the health and per¬
sonality of the pet and to pro¬
tect the other pets in the
Adoption Center from com¬
municable disease. We desper¬
ately need quarantine homes
with those who have older or
no pets. Please visit the Web
site at www.forsythpets.com
for more information about
this loving program.
• Donations needed — the
following items are needed for
donations: cat/dog food, kitty
litter and litter boxes, dog col¬
lars ranging in size from 12 to
• 20”, animal safe toys, cloth
and paper towels, trash bags,
batteries (for smoke alarms),
bleach, sheets, light blankets,
fleece fabric, holding pens,
food/water bowls, dog walkers
and kitty “companions.”
Monetary donations are also
appreciated.
• Sponsor a Cage Program
—Your donation will be used
to maintain a dog run or cat
room and to care for the ani¬
mal that lives there. In appre¬
ciation, a plaque will be dis¬
played on the cage you have
sponsored.. All who visit the
FCHS Adoption Center will
see how you have helped. For
information on becoming a
sponsor, please call Cheryl
Laughlin at (770) 887-8613 or
