Festival of Trees
... Unicoi State Park &
Lodge is partnering with the
White County Chamber of
Commerce and the Alpine
Helen/White County CVB to
host the “Festival of Trees”
from Nov. 26 through Dec. 10.
Visitors can choose their
favorite tree and place a bid on
it. The winning bids will be
announced Saturday, Dec. 10
and the winners will take
home the decorated trees and
trimmings. No admission is
required, and the trees will be
on display for everyone to
enjoy. All proceeds go to
White County United Way.

Girls on the Run Forsyth is (

family fun day is sponsored by
New Balance Athletic Shoe,
Inc., Girls on the Run Forsyth
and the Shops of Shakerag.
The goal is to combine the
power of running, workouts
and life skill games to promote
the development of girls in
grades 3-5. Bob Lancer, host
of Parenting Solutions on
WSB Radio, will speak at
12:30. Preregistration will be
available for the Spring
Session of Girls on the Run,
which will take place February
through May 2006. The twice
a-week curriculum combines
training for a 3.1 mile
run/walk event with social and
