Girls on the Run Forsyth ... the kick-off event for Girls on the Run Forsyth is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 3, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Old Atlanta Road and McGinnis Ferry Road in Cumming. The family fun day is sponsored by New Balance Athletic Shoe, Inc., Girls on the Run Forsyth and the Shops of Shakerag. The goal is to combine the power of running, workouts and life skill games to promote the development of girls in grades 3-5. Bob Lancer, host of Parenting Solutions on WSB Radio, will speak at 12:30 p.m. Preregistration will be available for the spring session of Girls on the Run, which will take place February through May 2006. The twice-a-week curriculum combines training for a 3.1 mile run/walk event with social and physical workouts.
