Forsyth County Senior Services ... is a nonprofit organiza¬ tion that is doing the follow¬ ing: • Planning several trips for seniors. Trips include an 11 night Las Vegas and Grand Canyon trip in September 2008; a Nashville show trip from December 8-12; and an Alaskan cruise from May 15- 25, 2009. The goal of the “Friends of Seniors” program is to decrease social isolation for seniors. The volunteers for this program enjoy being with others and conversing on the phone or in person at the senior’s home. Volunteers are matched with seniors using similar interests, hobbies and demographics. The Many Horses ... is a nonprofit organiza¬ tion dedicated to honoring and teaching Native American val¬ ues and traditions concerning the Earth, the environment and the natural world. The founda¬ tion is organizing a 10-day Walk for the Water starting at the headwaters of the Chattahoochee River on May 30 and ending on June 10 in a traditional Native American Ceremony in Atlanta, June 4, there will be a Native American Festival and Benefit Concert at Lake Lanier Islands Resort.
