scholarships for children ages
5-12 years. This scholarships
opportunity is open to low
income families that could not
afford to provide their child
with this exciting and memo¬
rable summer camp experi¬
ence. Scholarships are avail¬
able on a first come-first
served basis for the sessions
on June 9-20, June 23-July 4
and July 7-18. Parents are
encouraged to call right away.

Safety Town
... is a fun-filled, nine-day
program for children entering
kindergarten. Participants will
learn safety awareness and
preventive safety procedures.
Each camper will receive a T

ical waiver card. The program
is hosted by Forsyth County
Parks and Recreation
Department at Shiloh Point
Elementary School.

seniors. Trips include an 11
night Las Vegas and Grand
Canyon trip in September; a
Nashville show trip from Dec.
8-12; and an Alaskan cruise
from May 15-25, 2009. For

• Looking for homebound
seniors interested in having a
“friendly visit” by a volunteer.
The goal of the “Friends of
Seniors” program is to
decrease social isolation for
seniors. The volunteers for
this program enjoy being with
others and conversing on the
phone or in person at the
senior’s home. Volunteers are
matched with seniors using
similar interests, hobbies and
demographics. Some activities'
that volunteers and seniors
may enjoy together include
playing cards, taking walks,
reading or talking. For more

American Festival and Benefit
Concert at Lake Lanier Islands
Resort.

American Elders, as well as
all people regardless of race,
religion or ethnic background
to walk with them. People
