Pneumonia shots avail¬
able at special price
... Now is a good time to
get vaccinated for pneumonia.
District 2 Public Health
Departments have received
limited quantities of pneumo¬
coccal vaccine that will be
offered at a reduced price of
$14 while the supply lasts.
The vaccine is normally $46.
Because this is a special offer¬
ing and the supplies are limit¬
ed, persons should act quickly
if they want to be vaccinated.
Persons in the following
groups are eligible for the vac¬
cine and should strongly con¬
sider getting the shot: All
adults 65 years of age or
older; anyone over the age of
two years who has a long-term
health problem, has a disease
or condition that lowers the
body’s resistance to infection,
or is taking any drug or treat¬
ment that lowers the body’s
resistance to infection (such as
long-term steroids, certain
cancer drugs, or radiation
therapy). Contact the Forsyth
County Health Department for
more information.

Instructors from EJCH will
train young teens to care for
younger children. The classes
are designed for children ages
11-13 and teach them how to
handle emergencies when car¬

ered include: what to do when
a child chokes, safety for the
sitter, how to get emergency
help, babysitting business
skills, basic child care skills,
entertaining children and
keeping them safe. The cost is
