With afternoon tempera¬
tures spiking in the 90s this
week, some Forsyth County
residents are seeking shelter
from the heat by taking a dip.
The Cumming City Pool
was crowded Wednesday
afternoon with children and
parents battling the heat with
goggles, snorkels and sun¬
block.
Among the crowd were 25

The county, which has leased sev¬
eral other corps parks, sought to take
over Bethel as well and submitted a
development plan in 2007.
Citing the corps’ own regulations,
county officials argued that the county
should have been given the right of
first refusal before the contract was
offered to the YMCA.
