American Legion
Senior tryouts
The American Legion senior
baseball team, under the direction
of a new coach, is holding tryouts
for several positions on the sum¬
mer baseball team. Tryouts will
be held for those ages 17-19 at 2
p.m. on June 8 at Bennett Park.
Participants must bring their own
bat and glove. For more informa¬

North Forsyth -
Bobby Pless
basketball camp
boys only
North Forsyth varsity boys
basketball coach Bobby Pless will
be holding a boys only basketball
camp for grades 3-9 beginning
Monday, June 9 through
Thursday, June 12. Camp begins
at 9 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. Cost
is $90 per child. Camp will be
held at the North Forsyth gymna¬
sium.
South Forsyth -

girls only
South Forsyth varsity girls
basketball coach Keith Gravitt is
offering a girls only camp for
ages 6-13, starting Monday, June
9 ; Thursday, June 12. Camp
begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 12
p.m. Camp will be held in the
South Forsyth High gym.
North Forsyth -
Jim Cahill baseball
camp
North Forsyth Raiders coach
Jim Cahill will hold a summer
baseball camp for boys ages 12
and up from Monday, June 2 -
Thursday, June 5. The cost is
$150. A second camp will be held
Monday, June 9 - Wednesday,
June 11. The Cost is $100. Both
camps are conducted from 9 a.m.
- 12 p.m. each day and a t-shirt is

South Forsyth High
baseball camp
South Forsyth High School
will host a summer baseball camp
for ages 5-14 from Monday, June
9 - Thursday, June 12 on the War
Eagles’ baseball field. Cost is
$125. The camp will be conduct¬
ed from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. each day
and campers should bring a sack
lunch. Each camper will receive a

football camp 2
South Forsyth varsity football
coach Wendell Early will be
offering an offensive line and
defensive line camp for ages 9-
17. The camp will be held Friday,
June 27 and Saturday, June 28,
and will feature Sean Elliott,
offensive line coach for Division
1-AA Appalachian St. Camp will
be conducted from 6-9 p.m. on
Friday and 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on
Saturday at Piney Grove Middle
School. Cost is $75. Contact

Sharon Springs Park might
seem a long way from the glamour
of the NFL, but the two came
together in a big way Wednesday,
mixing professional giants with
pint-sized amateurs on the final day
of the park’s Pro Football Camp.
New South Forsyth
coach Jerry
Edmondson has
been named Track
Coach of the Year by
the Georgia
Independent
Schools
Association.
Edmondson served
as track coach at
Riverside Military
Academy in
Gainesville for 11
seasons.

For one moment, Jerry Edmondson
didn’t care about his future.
As the Riverside Military Academy
track team was celebrating its first state
title at this year’s Georgia Independent
Schools Association (GISA) meet on
April 25 in Albany, the former Eagles
coach could only sit and reminisce.
