everyone is acclimated.
Peachtree Parkway, howev
er, could be the exception.
“Even after (the first week
of school), I don’t see it getting
better,” Wagar said.

Otwell
Mrs. Wendell Bramblett
Otwell, age 99, of Cumming
passed away Wednesday, Aug.
6, 2008 in Athens at the home
of her daughter and son-in
law. A native of Cumming, she
was the daughter of Velvie
Little Tribble Bramblett and
George Washington Bramblett.
She was preceded in death by
her husband of 54 years,
Edwin C. Otwell; daughter,
Dr. Jane Otwell Rhoden;
brothers, Guy Weldon
Bramblett, James Edwin
Bramblett, Willis Frank
Bramblett; and sister, Gladys
Bramblett.,
Mrs. Otwell was a graduate
of the Georgia Normal School
and was a public school
teacher in Forsyth County for
many years. She was a dedi
cated gardener and homemak
er and was gifted in the art of
making hand crafted gum
paste flowers for wedding
cakes and special occasions.
She was the oldest member of
the Cumming Baptist Church
and had been a member there
for most of her life.
Survivors include her
brother, Thad Charles
Bramblett of Cumming; son
in-law, D.C. Rhoden of
Athens; grandchildren,
Thomas Clinton Rhoden of
Athens, Jennifer Jane Rhoden
Elmore (Kevin) of Biloxi,
Miss.; sister-in-law, Sybil
Bramblett of Athens; numer
ous nieces, nephews and other
relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held
Saturday, Aug. 9, at 11 a.m. in .
the Ingram Funeral Home
Chapel with Dr. John Roark
and Rev. Mark Wood officiat
ing, Interment followed at
Sawnee View Memorial
Gardens. The family received
friends Friday, Aug. 8, from 6-
8 p.m.

best thing a driver can do the

age 78, of Dawsonville passed
away Wednesday, Aug. 6,
2008. She was preceded in

Lito had been released from
jail on Aug. 1, investigators said,
He was arrested July 26 and
chaiged with aggravated battery
in connection with the beating
of another tenant at the Carlton
Road property, David Payne.
Lt. Col. Gene MosS, com
mander of the sheriff’s law
enforcement bureau, said Payne
was taken t0 the hospital by
Lito, who “in a rage had beaten
him up severely.
Moss declined to release
details of the dispute.
“All we can say about it is
there was a disagreement,” he
said.
Payne remained hospitalized
until Tuesday.
Moss said when Payne came
home he found that his apart
ment had been burglarized and
two firearms were stolen. He
reported the burglary.
Capt. Paul Taylor, com
mander of the sheriff’s criminal
investigations division, said Lito
was a suspect in the burglary.
Mr. Preston was an individ
ual we had been trying to make
contact with in relation to the
assault on Mr. Payne,” Taylor
said, adding that Preston was
thought to be a-witness in the
case,
Preston was scheduled to
meet with an investigator
Tuesday morning, but never
arrived.
