A northeastern Forsy th road was shut
dow n for a short time Thursday afternoon
after some possibly hu/ardcxis materials
fell off a truck.
“A civilian found some items on Shady
Grove Road that were marked to indicate
that they were explosive in nature," said
Forsyth County Fire Capt Jason Shivers
"But we got in touch with the compa¬
ny that manufactures the items and
quickly determined that they were not
explosives, but they were packing mate¬
rial for explosives."

William "Bill" Harold Harvey
William “Bill" Harold Harvey, 78, of
Cumming passed away April 20. 2012.
Bom m Pembroke, he was the son of the
late Will and Ruthic lax* Harvey. He was
also predeceased by his brothers, James B.
Harvey and tlx- late Honorable Judge John
Robert Harvey.
Bill graduated Ironi the University of
Georgia and worked as an accountant in
the financial department of General Motors
l akewtHsl until retirement, fie was a mem
her of Cumming First United Methodist
Church where he enjoyed being a teacher
in the Sort of 50’s Sunday school class.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Honea
Harvey of Cumming; daughter and son-in
law, Cheryl and David Dilworth of
Cumming; sister and brother-in-law, Betty
Jean and Gene Head ol Anthem, Ariz.; sis
ter-in-law, Olivia Harvey of Pembroke;
granddaughter, Lillie Dilworth of
Cumming; and his nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will he held Monday,
April 23, at 2 p.m at Cumming First
United Methodist Church with the Rev.
Kathie Stasko officiating. The family will
receive friends at the funeral home Sunday,
April 22, from 4-7 p.m. His final nesting
place will he in the Black Creek Cemetery
in Ellabcll
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully
requests donations in Bill's name to the

resident of Forsyth County passed away
Thursday, Apnl 19, 2012. She was a mem
her of New Harmony Ba|*ist Church. She
was preceded in death by her husband,
William Isaiah (Ike) Monroe.
She is survived by her children. Tcrcvsa
(Rex) Cox of Cumming; brother. Clay
Cowart; sister, Inez Howard; brother-in
law. J B Monroe; granddaughter and

Susan Richards Spencer
Susan Richards Spencer (Stains), age 04,
of Cumming passed away Thursday, Apnl
19, 2012. She was a member of Browns
Budge Community Church and attended
First Church where she was known

Agnes Madelyn Summers
Madelyn Summers, age 93, passed away
peacefully Thursday. April 19. 2012. with
family by her side. She was bom Aug. I,
1918, in Penasboro, W.Va. She graduated
with a degree from Oklahoma A&M, was
ahead of her time being the highest paid
female at Fulton Bag and Cotton Mill run¬
ning the child care facility, and founded
Chastain Arts Center in Atlanta. We will
remember her for her quick wit, determina¬
tion. creative mind, and most importantly
her big heart. She was always thinking of
others, even in her last moments with us,
and she will he greatly missed.
She is survived by her niece, Belinda
Swift of Cumming; two nephews, Richard
Summers of Canton. Michael Summers of
Cumming; grandniece, Stacey Swift of Los
Angeles. Calif.; and two grandnephews, ’
Austin Swift of Dodge City. Kan., Joseph
Summers of Knoxville, Tenn.
Funeral services will be held Sunday,
April 22. at 2 p.m. at Ingram Funeral
Home with the Rev. Stacey Hanson offici
atmg. Interment will follow at Green Lawn
Cemetery- in Roswell. A viewing will be
held Sunday from noon until the hour of '
