Hippology, horse judging
Members of the
Forsyth County 4-H
Horse Club have been
busy this year After a
great State showing at the
Horse Quiz Bowl
Competition in January,
where the senior team
placed first, the club
started preparing for
the horse judging and
hippology contests that
were held on May 4-5
at the animal and dairy
science arena in
Athens. These two
competitions allow
4-H‘ers to develop and
demonstrate their
equine knowledge.
The hippology contest
consisted of four differ
ent phases: test. ID sta¬
tion, judging, and team
problems. Each phase is
worth a certain number
of points, and these
<
points are tallied togeth¬
er to award the overall
winners. There were two
junior teams that com¬
pleted in this event.
Junior team No. I con¬
sisted ot Anna Ames,
Hayden Hackney, and
Kadie Sanford. Junior
team No. 2 consisted of
Brittany Barm. Lindsay
O'Saben. and Piff Short.
