career-high 28 points in
Central’s second round

It took her only 12

Fishier
constantly worked on his
game.
"By putting in the work,
he surpassed a lot of them.
It just goes to show what
effort can do for you. I
knew he'd play college
ball one day."
When Fishier was on
the floor, everyone knew
the ball was going to him
“When we went down
the court, the No. 1 option
was Fish," Barnes said.
"No. 2 was Fish, No. 3
was Fish, No. 4 was Fish
and No. 5 was Fish.”
Basketball isn't
Fishler's only sport. In
fact, “Fish" likes the
water.
He said he would be a
swimmer if he didn't play
basketball.
“I'm not like (U.S.
Olympic swimmer]
.Michael Phelps," Fishier
said with a laugh. "I swim
all the time during the
summer, though. It’s just
one of those things that I
really like to do.”
His little brother, Austin
Fishier dubbed
"Nemo” — is the manager
for the varsity team.
Austin Fishier, who stands
about six feet tall, plays
one-on-one basketball
with his brother in the
driveway at home.
“He's beaten me once or
twice when I've had an off
day," Andrew Fishier said.
“He likes to think he
can get a shot over me, but
it doesn't happen. I just
swallow him up like
everyone else."
That's what happens

ber. McCorkle said.
“I really feel like the
coach wanted me,”
McCorkle said. “When he
talked to me on the
phone, he told me how
much he wanted me to
play on the team and that
he wanted me to go ahead
and sign with them ”
The one thing
McCorkle doesn't like is
that he will be 5 1/2 hours
away from his family.
“I'm a huge family
person," he said.
"My family has
always been there to
support me when I
needed them My par¬
ents have brought me
all this way. They have
already said that they
plan on coming up to
watch me play, though."
Even with McCorklc's
success, there is still
room for improvement.
He spends his time try¬
ing to improve his foot¬
work with a trainer He
practices lateral and
speed drills so he can
stop quicker players.
"I used to just let peo¬
ple go to the basket if
they beat me (off the
dribble),’’ McCorkle
said. "I'm working now
so that it's harder for
them to heat me and if
they do. I'll he able to
catch up with them."

just keeps going and
going.
