Summer sends in slew of shows
Finally, ihe summer is
upon us, and thai means
concerts are kicking into
high gear
There's at least oik* great
slum every night this week
tlmnigh Sunday.
That’s the good news.
The had new s'* You can't
see all of them. There are
several tough calls this
week between two great
performers on the same
night.
So I'm going to play a
game of entertainment
cage match for this week's
conflicting shows.
l ust up, Thursday. It's
kind of an uneven match
between Sting at Chastain
Park Amphitheater and
Foster the People at Encore
Park Amphitheater.
In one comer, you’ve got
Police frontman and popu¬
lar music legend and in the
other comer, there's an
indie rock tno that didn't
form until 2009
It s an easy call for
Sting. His songs, "Brand
New Day," "Fields of
Gold," "If I Ever Lose My
Faith til You" and " Soul
Cages,” among countless
others have been chart top¬

The Marietta-bom Tntt,
