Procurement Certification
Council,
Donna H. Kukarola was
among 164 professionals
who successfully completed
the examination in October.
Established in 1964, the
certification is an honor for
those employed in the pub
lic procurement profession
and considered an asset to
their specific division of
administration.
The certification recog
nizes only those profession-

Properties given to local Habitat

Habitat for Humanity-North
Central Georgia recently received
two donated properties to help
rovkb affordable houllng to low
ncome families in Forsyth, north
ern Fulton and Cherokee counties.
The properties, one in Forsyth
and the other in Roswell, were
given to the local Habitat for
Humanity chapter as part of Bank
of America’s national partnership.
The bank plans to donate up to
each month at the Golden Corral on
Market Place Boulevard. For more infor

The Rotary Club of Johns Creek meets

Mot truck — A Lakeside Trail resi
dent reported a vehicle fire on
Jan. 8 after hearing an explosion
and seeing flames coming from a
parked moving truck. The man
renting the truck was unaware |t
was ablaze. The case is being
investigated as arson, as the
explosion was possibly caused
by chemicals.
Couldn’t hold it — A 36-year-old
Dawsonville man was arrested
Jan. 6 for driving under the influ
ence after dopsgu saw him
stopped on the shoulder of Ga.
400 in a truck. When approached,
he sald he had stopped to urinate.
Carved in — Three computer
monitors were reported stolen
Jan. 6 from a business on Curle
Drive. The owner responded after
the alarm company alerted him.
Deputies found a hole carved in
the outer wall,
Landlord lobbed — The 88-year
old landlord of Glenwood Mobile
Home Park residence reported
Jan. 8 that he had been attacked
by an assallant. Arriving to check
on a water leak, he was hit in the
forehead.
Dine, dash, but a tip — A waiter at
a Lakeland Plaza eatery reported
Jan, 4 that three men had left with
out paying their bill. The last man
sitting at the table, however, gave
the waiter a $4 tip before leaving.
Home ransacked — A resident of
Bottoms Road reported Jan. 4 that
the house had been burglarized
while no one was home. The cable

old Buford woman was arrested

phetamine with Intent to distrib
ute after the man she was riding
with was &ullod over on Ga. 400
north for following too closely.
Two 18-yearold Forsyth County
high school students in the car
were also arrested for tampering
with evidence. The driver was
released on a citation.
DUI in a ditoh — A 43-year-old
Cumming man was arrested for
DUI on Jan. 2 after he drove his
truck Into,a ditch on Hurt Bridge
Road near Carder Lane. He said .
he'd been trying to make a U-turn.
A deputy noticed an open beer can
In the car. The man's breath test
revealed a blood-alcohol content
level of .26.The legal limit is .08,
Firearm found - A resident in the
Longlake subdivision reported
finding a loaded plstol while walk
ing through the neighborhood
