Patti Lynn Arthur Rogers
Our beautiful daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend
lost her courageous battle with cancer on the evening of
Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013. Patti Lynn Arthur Rogers was born
April 28, 1964, and celebrated 48 years of life. She leaves a
wonderful husband, Kevin Wayne Rogers and a beautiful
daughter, Lindsey Jenna Rogers to carry on her legacy of love
and devotion to her family and those surrounding her. She was
also loved by her mother, Bea Arthur; sisters, Pam Arthur,
Mary Ann Pennington and brother-in-law Tommy Pennington
of Fayetteville, W.Va., R.J. and Kayla Arthur of Raleigh, N.C.;
and brother and sister-in-law, Curt and Sue Rogers of Sawnee.
She was born in West Virginia and she loved those “coun
try roads” so she let them “take her home” for many visits
with family and friends over her years spent living in
Georgia. She lived with her husband and daughter in Sugar
Hill. She graduated from Fayetteville High School and
Concord College located in West Virginia and received her
-Master’s of Science degree from North Georgia College and
State University, then completed her Specialist in Education
degree at Lincoln Memorial University (TN). She loved
teaching at Forsyth Central High School and helping the
many hundreds of students over her 22 years there.
° She was a champion of any cause she believed in and she
loved with all of her heart. Her friends were always consid
~ered part of her family and we were all very fortunate to
“ have her in our lives.
Her family and friends are invited to a “Celebration of
- .Life” Thursday, Jan. 17, from 5-7 p.m. at Byars Funeral
~_Home, where we will touch each other’s lives with the
commemoration and remembrance of her wonderful life.
_The service will follow at 7 p.m. as we continue to honor
our time spent with her. A second “Celebration of Life” is
. ~planned for Fayetteville, W.Va., at a later date.
Her family would like to say thank you for all the prayers
- and words of encouragement she received throughout the
_ *last few years as she battled this disease called cancer.

HOROSCOPES by Holiday
ARIES (March 21-April 19). One of
the reasons that you're an interest
ing person is that you're interested
in what others are up to. Everything
you learn makes you more exciting
to be around. .
TAURUS (April 20-May 20). You
invent the weather around you. And
when there's a change in your per
sonal weather, everyone in your
vicinity feels it. Because of this,
you'll make an effort to stay on the
bright side.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Your
powers of memorization are particu
larly strong which will help you in
efforts social, political and profes
sional. Later you'll make an impres
sion with the information you gather.
CANCER (June 22-July 22). Your
attention is a gift. Taking the time to
appreciate another person’s mindset
is a gift. Stick with the ones who can
appreciate the value of your life
energy.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Your attach
ment to things will be challenged.
What do you really need? You may
find the answer to that question will
change based on the time of day. The
best-case scenario is: | don’t need
much.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). You
can’t do this thing alone. You could
try — you'd get pretty far in the
game, but you wouldn’t ultimately
win it. You need a team. Stay aware
and you'll have the wherewithal to
assemble a good one.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Your
words register in the ears of those
who most need to hear them. It may
be a process that's hard to detect in
the moment, but you can be sure
that eventually the meaning will
land.
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). You
are no stranger to the pangs of envy.
Feeling them while you observe an
online page of someone else’s
apparently fabulous life is sign of the
times. Just know that you have
absolutely no reason td be jealous.
SAGITTARIUS (N0v.22-Dec. 21).
Formalities make everyone who is a
part of the group and in-the-know
feel quite comfortable while every
one on the outside of the group feels
quite the opposite. Proéeed with
caution. -
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19).
Communication is just as much about
listening as it is about talking. While
this comes as no surprise to you,
there are a few people you know who
consistently violate the rules.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18).
Unless you're a superhero, power
doesn’t come from your suit. But
that doesn't stop you from wanting
to portray an image of success. It's a
lucky day for shopping — you know
yourself so well.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). You're
not looking for anyone’s approval,
which is probably why you have no
problem getting it. You'll talk about
your life in positive terms and you'll
attract good people.
